Steemit Milestone: 3000+ followers and what I learnt about Steemit-An Introduction

in busy •  7 years ago  (edited)

Getting 3000+ followers on this great platform is not an easy job especially if they are real followers and you are not a YouTube star like @jerrybanfield and @dollarvigilante , a popular steemit Wild Man @papa-pepper , steemit tourist darling @sweetsssj , great steemit witnesses @teamsteem , @timcliff and or a steemit gentleman @meesterboom (plus many others not mentioned here) -all these great steemians deserves a steemit gold medal for their contributions here hence their success.
For those who want to achieve success here in less than 6 months, here are some few points:

Pic Source

Brand and quality: creating a brand (plus consistent quality posts)is the key. For example if you are great in mouthwatering foods and drinks like @amy-goodrich and @karenmckersie then build your brand around that segment and with respect to work of art/photography then check out @opheliafu , @saramiller and @inber because they are always on top of their game. Therefore use your great talent in creating brand and be consistent with top quality in order to maintain and gain new followers which in return will lead to better financial performance.

Focus On The Fun and learning Experience Not Money (Patience is the key) : Put succinctly, I came here for the money and stayed for the community and great friends . To be successful here, Join steemit community and make friend especially those who share the same interests with you. This will certainly lead to success here and ability to get any of your questions answered. Moreover, if you focus on the fun and learning experience and be patience, financial reward will always follow as bonus. Importantly, do not focus on people on trending pages (most have built their brands and contacts plus have huge steem power) rather be patient and work hard towards your brand.

Respect other people posts: This is key because some people copy and paste other people posts ( ruthless plagiarism ) and or copy and paste comments -examples follow me , I follow you (Follow for follow bot like comments) and upvote for upvote spams. These will always lead to flagging –therefore be respectful and comment accordingly. Moreover , most new members should focus on engaging with older members through good comments (most make it more through this way than posting in their 1st few weeks) thus building their followers before posting .

Steem Power: This is the crème de la cream of being successful here. Reason is that you will gain more financially (curation and author rewards) , rise in steem price, interest plus ability to make more money via delegating your steem power in return of steem dollars. Therefore, if you have the cash, then buy steem and power up.

Have a great day!!

what do you like about this post? I guess that you didnt read it before commenting...or are you a bot?

No I'm not. I must admit I'm trying to build my community and I'm a bit lost with it. I read it rapidly, I know it's not respecting your article and I'm sorry about that. I liked the "respect other people's posts" part though, because I know many people steal some of my pictures to use them and I really get mad with this because then none ever goes to my "profile" and none even know where those stolen pics come from. So this part of your article kind of "talked to me", don't know if this expression exists. And... yeah, I copy and paste my comment on articles that look interesting, but yeah, I'm not always reading. Sorry for bothering anyway

Thanks for your honesty. I know that people who admit their mistakes and learn always make it ...I will check out your posts and follow you...keep steeming to more success and read my older posts for more tips. upped.

A lot of new people would make the same mistake, it's a good thing some are willing to admit theirs :)

... And thanks for your understanding ! I'll definitely read your older posts and try to learn from your tips ! Thanks for following :)

welcome and keep steeming to more success

Lovely dear

Im still new here and Ive been struggling to figure this out. I never thought about finding your segment, I will try that. Thanks!

Its quite helpful because then you will always know what to write and people interested in what you write will follow and support you

Thanks for the tips. I am still trying to understand how all this works. Steem power? Must go read up on what that really means. I am here to meet people and share thoughts, more than just the money and so, I have patience. 😃

Good point, am sure that you will be a big success. Educating youself on steem ecosystem is key to success.

A lot of lesson learnt from this post ...Indeed getting 3000 followers is not easy...mine with 464 followers has not been easy thankz for the advice

welcome and more success

Well done you. It's a milestone to be proud of!

Aye Aye @meesterboom ...thanks for showing a fellow gentleman some LOVE!!!

:0)

good..!!

what is good about the pot bot and did you read the post?

Congrats @charles1 on the milestone ! 👏

I too came for the monetary incentives that were being commended by many others, but like you, have started to enjoy the community instead. I find the content being published here much more rewarding and interesting compared to YouTube or Facebook, which I regularly use. Feels much more personal and also having a sense of extra layer of depth in these content/post.

I'll definitely be sticking around! To many more success your way, and everyone else here of Steemit.

Good point, am sure that you will be a success here.

Thank you for sharing these. I'm fairly new but my dream is to become successful here. I like what you said about being consistent and having good content. In my first week here, I see a lot of low quality post which just overcrowds the feed. It's easy to overlook some good content especially from newbies like me. But it will not discourage me from creating quality post in the future.

What you said is true, I should focus more on engaging with people and learning from the successful ones in here. I have posted a few blogs which I worked hard on but I understand why it can go easily unnoticed. Not focusing on the reward can make it less frustrating and yes I will focus on the fun :)

Good one, I agree with you. I am sure that you will be a big success here...

This is the first post I have read in Steemit and your post has surely boost my interest into it. I will to implement your points as I go ahead in this journey: Write quality stuffs, respect other post and not to copy, make friends having experience. Thank you for the post and I will my best to do it in the right way.

you are welcome and more success to you.

awesome charles! a very great post. I totally agree with you about the brand thing. To be honest, I don't know if my one is too broad because I have a lot of interests (self development, filmmaking and now dtube and steemit). So, I have like 3 categories on my platform.

I would love to connect with you (I already followed you). And another thing...I really agree with you about the follow me and ill follow you. It's such BS because on this platform, it's ALL ABOUT BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS!!

Alright, Winny out for now ;)
