Facebook is not all bad...
I actually quite like it when it shows me what I posted a year ago.
As I'm sitting here at my laptop, I see this post of January 4, 2017 in my feed:
Amazing how much can change in one year
I knew no one who was interested in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies a year ago (apart from plenty of MLM "crypto" people... In fairness - all their marketing prompted me to check out the actual Bitcoin properly).
When I bought my first Bitcoin I did it in secret. I didn't tell anyone. It was a secret easily kept, because nobody knew about it anyway. Or was remotely interested. To properly share it, I would have had to explain them first what it is (I did try!) only to have them judge me a minute later, that I spent - wait how much??? - on one Bitcoin.
I bought my first Bitcoin for $900.
The funny thing is, when I tell people now how much I paid for my first Bitcoin, they ask the same question: "Wait - how much???" Only by now, this translates to how little.
And then I haven't even mentioned Dash yet...
One year later
...I am running the Bitcoin Group of Berlin, I'm a Dash Ambassador, my Crypto Mentoring Programme for women apparently comes up when people google "Blockchain & Consciousness" (wooohooo!!) and even my landlord hired me for a consulting session. Plus, I have a number of BBF's now - Best Bitcoin Friends.
And let's not forget the gift of having found Steemit.
Nice post. I can't wait for the blockchain to change our lives and view on society completely. Steemit has already shown that possible as long as we hold dear to our community and creative content. I lost faith in the banks years ago with the locked my primary bank account for almost 2 weeks because of a supposed unpaid surgeries bills right after I was just fully recovering from thyroid cancer. Without family I would had be out on the streets trying to recover both money and my health. Luckily my health is fine now, but we must take out freedom back. The fact the banks literally steal from us and can do whatever they want with our livelihood is no joke and must end. Thanks so much for your blog.

@connecteconomy.This is astounding what amount can change in one year
I knew nobody who was occupied with Bitcoin and digital forms of money a year prior (aside from a lot of MLM "crypto" individuals... In reasonableness - all their advertising provoked you to look at the genuine Bitcoin legitimately).
This is superb and amazing.

Absolutely! I've been quite happy before when I didn't have any real expectation and considered every SBD a bonus. But now I can actually set and achieve real goals, like buying a new laptop from SBD. Plus it makes such a difference when your own upvote is actually worth something and you can help others to at least $1 per post.

Both. We will see incredible increases and just as incredible drops.
I think we haven't even begun to see volatility yet.
This is the year when the old system will exert as much control as it can muster. This will be the final battle and I can totally picture a drop of $50,000 in one day. And of course I can also see Bitcoin going up to $100,000 or even $200,000 by the end of 2018.
