ALL SHE WANTED WAS A READY-MADE LIFE PARTNER!

in busy •  7 years ago  (edited)

I never knew that "ready-mades" were still much in vogue, in spite of, the prominence of what many call second-hand (aka. 'tokunbo' or 'acubay') in Nigeria today (smiling!). Until an experience I had...

Two years ago, I was having a chat with a female friend of mine... I can't really remember what actually changed the bearing of our chitchat, so to say, into a subject on life partner.

And she said to me, "Do you have someone (a man) for me?" At this statement, I smiled. But then, jokingly I asked her what kind of man she was looking for? "I want ready-made!", she replied.

This response further strengthened the urge of my cheeks to laugh, which I have tried to curtail with just a decent and a civil smile. Well, aside from the comic nature of such an utterance of my wonderfully ambitious female friend, some sense gained entrance into my mind.

No doubt, many aspire for ready-made stuff, just as most young ladies out there earnestly desire 'ready-made' life partners-- men who are in affluence and money. Meanwhile, as I pondered over such a seemingly blatant expression of my friend: "I want ready-made!" I asked myself a question:

"The way I live my life, and carry myself; does it actually attract "ready-made" persons and situations to my life?

What a question! A question that can only be practically answered by a person's choices and decisions in life-- particularly the ones of today.

Hence, all I could do was to think less of what is ready-made for me; and instead to think more about things that are best for me, by making myself ready in the learning and building process of becoming the best I could ever be that even my widest dreams cannot contain.

(The conversation continued!)

Then, I told my friend, "Why not make yourself 'readymade'-- becoming a 'vessel' of honour and positive impact to your sphere?. And then, you will be marveled at how things will be falling in place as though they are ready-made products able to last the test of time.

Make sure every moment of count.
