Regarding the 50/50 Curation and Author Debate

How on earth could we do anything about thousands of dollars a week of bot votes using flagging?

It is being done, because no one wants to spend their stake, to stop it. We are watching the value bleed out because people do not want to flag this... For one week if everyone flagged the shitty posts,... It would be over, just that fast.

"good poo, sorry this is all I can write now..."

haha

The other thing is that doing a flag often leads to at least one instant revenge flag straight back and the people doing the big bots votes are usually pretty wealthy - and my flag is only worth about minus 30 cents anyway - this guy does a $500 post EVERY day on average

Some people using bots are Steem Wealthy, but a bigger problem are the "no one" accounts who show up make a few big posts, disappear and create a new account.

I flag daily.. every single day on the trending page. I've been revenge flagged twice. Haejin is the only one. It is fake news and fear that spread that message.

You don't get flagged because you look pretty powerful - and because of your rep and account you are - even I seldom get flagged these days, but I used to be. But a sub 500SP account gets shredded at the drop of a hat.

And their flags are worthless anyway. I know you think this could work but I honestly don't think flagging is the answer to anything.

Even if the big shit posters do create new accounts, each one could be kept under 500 for the week with a limit in place

All we have to do is flag away the profits. It doesn't have to be taken down to zero.

If people see it doesn't pay to promote shitty content, then people will stop promoting shitty content.
