Put a rocket in orbit, is equivalent to place under a giant bus, full of fine crystals, an explosive bomb that throws 350 miles away, without breaking a single glass ...

That prodigy of the technique had already achieved the Soviets long before 1961, but now the world was not out of amazement: within that rocket was a young man of just 27 years and was called Yuri Gagarin

Inside the cabin of Vostok ship, barely 2 meters in diameter, driven by twenty million horsepower, Gagarin was the first man to leave the earth to look at us from outer space.

Yuri Gagarin went down in history as the first man to turn around the Earth's orbit, in 1 hour and 48 minutes, at a speed of 17 500 miles per hour.

Yuri Gagarin narrates in this way his entry to the land:

"The capsule turned red. I saw the glow of the flames roaring around the ship. It was in a ball of fire that rushed down "

The cosmonaut fired the ejector, left it in the air and reached the ground in a parachute. Gagarin arrived in the middle of the morning to a crop of potatoes, almost on the head of two peasants who did not understand that strange appearance, in the city of Engels, on the banks of the Volga. Then he removed the helmet from his head and said:

"Do not be afraid. I'm one of ours I am a Soviet who has descended from space and I need a telephone to call Moscow. "

The cosmonaut reassured his improvised welcoming committee. They were two peasants in the vicinity of the city of Engels, stunned by the sudden appearance, on the banks of the Volga River, of a paratrooper dressed in a diving suit.

Gagarin had just entered History. For the glory of mankind, it was a day like today, April 12, 1961.
