The district of Aceh Tamiang is a fraction of the district of East Aceh and is the only region in Aceh with many ethnic Malays (60%). Although in the population of the Javanese (20%) more than the ethnic Malays, but in the Malay government more dominant. In addition to these two ethnic groups, the Acehnese (15%) are also commonly found in this district.
