When @walkofhope and Bamboo Nation collide : building a Bamboo HUB in the Philippines

I posted on August 30th the event that @flabbergast-art attended, the Bamboo Nation 3, where both delegations from Indonesia and the Philippines gathered in Cebu to showcase their architectural bamboo structures and designs. @walkofhope was invited to showcase our bamboo art and music through @flabbergast-art and #tataydagsa.

Ok, after all that modelling of their skimboards, I for one is very excited of @walkofhope's future plans.

• Creating Livelihood for our 30 scholar students in Kabankalan City, our latest advocacy

To do this, we will be having bamboo crafts and innovation workshops for 30 students, instead of 60, the overall scholar students for Ikthus Foundation. This is family owned where the yearly donations of 2.5M pesos was decreased to 1.5M. An earlier mismanagement of funds occured and has been solved. To continue these kids scholarships, their parents now have to shoulder their extra needs, but because they are unable to fund their kids, a decision was made to help the kids learn from @walkofhope 2 days workshop. There is a market for bamboo crafts from what we have started in Bayawan City last May.

After this workshop in September 15-16, the parents will in turn have another income-generating tasks already being arranged by the CREATIVES of Kabankalan City.

• A Bamboo Hub in Kabankalan City

Remember the bamboo nation guys?

Their head has been collaborating with @flabbergast-art and the Creatives of Kabankalan City to build this structure as a hub for the future Bamboo Crafts and Innovations. As we have already an architect to do the design, who offered to help create this HUB. All I have seen previously were of structures with bamboo designs...what they will be making, it's not finalised as yet. But the soonest, @flabbergast-art will send them to me once he have them.
