Padma Bridge to be launched in December

Though the construction work will be delayed, the Padma Bridge will be opened in December this year. Road transport and labor minister Obaidul Quader said this again with emphasis. He said the first span of the bridge has been installed. The second span takes a little while to settle. Then we will not have to worry about putting other spans. There is no uncertainty in this. The minister said, we have calculated that the construction work of the bridge will be completed in due course. After the completion of formal work two years later, in September, the main structure of the bridge is visible in the huge Padma chest. The first span was placed on pillar number 37 and 38 in the Jajira end of Padma. The vehicles will run on this structure. The Bridge Division sources said that the work of 28 thousand 7 93 crore taka was completed by about 51 percent. 41 spans will be installed on 42 pillars for constructing the main infrastructure for the 6 decimal 15 kilo bridge. But there is only one sitting up till now. To start the bridge in December, the remaining 40 spans of 150 meters should be completed this year. For this purpose, thousands of foreign and foreign workers are working day and night in Padma. However, due to adverse weather and huge activity, it will be difficult to complete the Padma bridge at the scheduled time. They also advised to take time without hurry to finish the construction work. City Research Center President Prof Nazrul Islam said, "We will have to proceed carefully with considering the work of the Mega Project Padma bridge."
