I was scrolling
through some old pics I saved on Carbonite and found this gem:
I 1st learned about Bitcoin because I read something on Wired having to do with this Silk Road. I was immediately captivated by the TOR technology and this new digital currency called Bitcoin.
Everything was so shady...and I loved it!
I remember getting a personalized response (encyrpted via pgp) from DPR himself putting me at ease with the security of my Bitcoin. He was so incredibly confident and brave. I was just in awe of what he created...dare I say I had a huge man crush? I would browse that Silk Road for hours at work using a special bootable TAILS USB stick I learned how to make there. I felt like a bad-ass that I learned how to beat the system and be able to browse anything I wanted at work locked away in a private conf room. I would read that note almost every day until I learned the Gov't had mirrored the TORMAIL server. I never logged on again.
I bought that T-shirt
on the Silk Road and wore it around town and got comments and thumbs up from people in the know. It was like it was this secret club that only cool people knew about. One time, this hot stoner girl at the Coop deli gave me an extra 1/4 lb of Angus Prime Roast beef in acknowledgement of it! I also bought some edibles and fake id's that got delivered to my fake P.O. box I set up at UPS- note: high school kids don't give a shit.
I wore the shirt to mow the lawn once and could never get it clean again. I soaked it too, only to ruin it forever. Sorta poetic, right?
Miss you dude....
You changed my life forever....Muah!
