My 1st 5k....EVER!

So yeah, this happened yesterday....I ran 5k! I decided a little over a month ago that I would do this, sort of a personal goal. I'm not a runner, but after listening to my boss speak about his experience doing a triathlon, I figured meh...why not try? I put $30 down to register for the Hops and Grain city tour and started a "Couch to 5k" program in 30 days.

I'm not a total couch potato, but tend to be a little on the lazy side, so the fact that I spent $ and told everyone at work what I was gonna do was the motivation I needed to get me off my ass. Rumor has it that I'm nicer to be around when I excersize, so there's that. I gotta admit, my body does feel better, have more energy, and I sleep better.

I was a little concerned at the 2 mile mark because technically, I never ran further than 1.83 miles. Good thing there were others on the tour that I just kept up with. Not gonna lie.... I was winded when I finished but really happy that I made a personal goal and actually achieved it for like..the 1st time ever. LOL. Its funny to see what I'm actually capable of when I get out of my own bullshit!
I'm gonna do a 10k next!
