My Rose Seeds Harvest

Hi Steemit friends!!!

Do you have roses at home? We do have two species of rose but I am not so ste what sort of roses are they. Anyway, I have been trying to get rid of some weeds in our yard and I can tell out roses were struggling too this is because they've grown so much in an unhealthy way. Well I am guilty for neglecting them for one and two, weeds and other plants are trying to take sunshine from them. They were competing because they've been covered and sort of pushed them into shade, we know thy need a lot of sunshine.

They've gone so high so we have to prune them a lot. As I was pruning them, I have seen lots of rosehips. It is a lucky day! I will be harvesting few seeds. This makes me happy, you may ignore it. 😂

After pruning them, I took some healthy stems for cutting propagation and I took all the rosehips I can find.

After 2 to 3 times of splitting the rosehip, I finally mastered it.

The said germination of roses through seeds are very low but I just want to give it a try. I might just get lucky. If not, well I might just stick to cuttings for propagation.

What do you do for those seeds? It’s my first time to know about the rose seeds!

hi @vandadream :-) I will try to germinate them. I was checking on some youtube videos to guide me or i can find ideas atleast on how to germinate them usually and how effective some methods are to try..

😁♥️ me too, hopefully i can germinate them well and grow them. the mother plants were planted by mom through cuttings and their flowers were huge pink and red. 🌹

In my house there is no rose that grows perfectly. because there are still many wild animals, I've overcome all but still messy

posting is very useful for those who like flowers and you have given an explanation of the seeds of roses to be planted again. Many people who do not know the seeds that are in the roses. I often see people planting stems instead of seeds that are in the flower.

it actually got me wondering before too @taqincz why there were lots of rose seeds for sale but i never seen one myself my entire life. then it got me googling how to harvest rose seeds and now i finally know that roses that has seeds on them gotten pollinated so well that is why when the flowers withered, they are left with a big round hip, those are called rosehips they contain the seeds. :-)
