Busy vs productive

in busy •  7 years ago

24 hours is a lot of time in a day. If you are organized you can have extra time to do anything you want to do.
I found that as people, we frequently use our conditions as an excuse to not do things. Sometimes we blame the weather, our clothes, etc. Anything you can think of can be an excuse but when you really want to do something you will do it.
This is human nature, but we have to be conscious of it.
There are also instances we confuse busyness with productivity.
Everyone can be busy but it is a different thing when you are productive. One takes actual effort and always pays off. For example one spending time on Steemit is being productive in my opinion. I find Steemit to be a positive learning environment with people sharing useful knowledge for everyday life. On the other hand you can be busy on Facebook or YouTube . Those generally are not as productive.
Being productive can be challenging when you have many things to do. It's easy to feel so overwhelmed that you can end up not doing anything at all. I find that the important thing is to be aware of what's going on with you. I like writing things down too to help me deal with a busy day ahead.
I am personally guilty of procrastinating especially over things I don't enjoy doing.
I thought about this difference because I know someone who said he is sooo busy and barely has time for anything. I asked him what are you busy doing? And he couldn't say anything substantial. The fact is most people say they are busy but are they being productive?
I was trying to get him to learn about cryptocurrency last year when I started my crypto journey.
This guy taught me about options trading and I wanted to return the favor but he was too 'busy' at the time. Well he is now learning more about it so I guess better late than never. To be fair he wasn't the only one. It took a while convincing my coworkers too. Some did sign up eventually. I love sharing a good information.
Take care guys.

This is the writing part of @leggy23. Very worthy to say that many are busy but not productive.

This is a fact. We can be occupied with nothing.

I was trying to get him to learn about cryptocurrency last year when I started my crypto journey.

I had told many friends, and many still dont believe. nor take it serious. I hope it wont be too late.

There is is thing with Nigerians or should I say with some persons in general

  • When the have to pay physical cash for something that will benefit them...they come up with excuses by either seeing fault in the process or that they don't have the needed amount to start

  • When that same thing that will benefit them is free but require little personal effort ...they slack away or wait till you do it for them.

The only thing that spur some persons to action is when that thing is not only free but also requires no personal effort. Little did they know that whatever that is free and requires no effort has far less limited durability.

They moment you tell some persons about making money on steemit they go super interested, but tell them the effort needed ...you will see the excitement die a natural death..

True, or people only become interested when they see tangible money. If you start paying rent with Steemit money then they will become 100% ready to start steeming.

You are right. But do you know it gets harder day by day?. Except when such new people can afford to buy thousands of steem and power up. Imagine in 2016, your post could be earning as much as 8000 usd. Although steem and sbd was lower then. So it means, If you consistently earn like 10,000 usd on a post and you didnt power down since then, you would naturally become a whale now. But now, without whale upvote, crossing 10 usd is like all time high in my case...

I wasn't here in 2016 to notice that kind of difference in earnings. But that's incredible that posts were earning that much , it makes me wonder if posts will continue to earn less with time. I hope not

I was not here either. I was busy chasing other things. Lol. A brief search on some long standing steemians will bring those details. Since everything is on blockchain.
I hope not as well.
I am waiting to see what the upcoming hard fork will bring.

Me too🤞

I want to be more productive... like a rainbow of production!

You are here otage, you are already being productive.😊

Very inspiring....i love your point of view...

Thanks.

That's a valid observation. But people also tend to look busy to avoid accusations of laziness. I suppose that's part of the reason why "I'm busy" gets thrown around a lot particularly in Anglosaxon countries.

I feel like it's ok to have time off or a lazy day, as long as it's not all the time.

Se nota que eres una chica muy ocupada y haces el esfuerzo por publicar, ojala y valga la pena mucho exito para ti.!

I thought about this difference because I know someone who said he is sooo busy and barely has time for anything. I asked him what are you busy doing? And he couldn't say anything substantial.

Ever heard of this: "busy doing nothing"
I think that is the right word for doing unproductive things.

you get the idea Hillary. I like that saying too , it summarizes everything.

We always should be creative in easch part of life as steemit, work or etc. But its a bit hard. People like being lazy, always want fun. So ists important that achieve this. I hope we do.

Asi es amiga en nuestro caso tratamos de hacer lo mas productivo posible porque tratamos de hacer todo con mucho cariñoo, gracias por siempre hacer esas publicaciones tan interesante con lo real de la vida diaria.. besos
