So cool 😊

Thanks, I took this at the place where I go windsurfing once in a while. Was a beautiful day as you can see :)

Your welcome
Wow! it is a beautiful day, I really like it, but I can not do it.😊
Hopefully one day I can do it 😇

Its easier than you think! Go for it if you can :)

Is that right?
Thank you for your advice 😊

I really like this image, there is so much going on that I can look at it for a long time and see new things. The light and shadow makes it very interesting as well. :)

Thanks, this was taken after my last day of surfing at the end of last year's season. We were enjoying a bear and the autumn sun right at that spot. Splendid!

I'm now waiting for the water to heat up again :)

Where did you surf? Are there any good spots in Holland? I used to surf myself, but haven't in many years! I bet you can get a warm wet suit and go straight away...

Just to clarify, im talking about windsurfing :) It was at brouwersdam in the Netherlands. Its a very popular windsurf spot. In the summer there are literally 100s of ppl on the water. Even a lot of Germans make it all the way there. The cool thing is that at brouwersdam you can surf on inland water and on the North Sea. And there are also a lot of kite surfers there. Its lots of fun to spend some days there once in a while! When I go next time I’ll write a detailed post with some nice pictures.

Wpuld love to hear about this. Dad used to windsurf in 80s but when kiting took over he did that.

Yeah, I will try to get my hands on a GoPro or something and try to make a nice video once I'm back on the water :) Is he still doing that? Would love to try that out someday

Well.. long story but last year Dad had a heart attack at 70. Which was nuts as he is superfit.. always vegetarian, lean yogi, always surfed and kited and paddleboarded. Anyway he recovered pretty fast but went out for only 1 kite as he is getting older but he loved it and it was awesome. He stand up paddle boards more with me. Anyway 3 wks ago he found out he has non hodgkins lymphoma.. i mean.. what???? So he is now having chemo and we are all a bit in shock. Hopefully he is one of 60 percent who come through for this sort of cancer but i reckon his kiting days are done. It was a big part of his life til about 67. My Dad is awesome.

Sounds great! I've done some windsurfing myself, but mostly kitesurfing. I used to live on the west coast of Norway earlier and we had a lot of great winds there. I think it's interesting interpreting the strength of wind and to use it to navigate with the sail/kite. The area sounds like and area in Denmark I've windsurfed in called Hvide Sande, it has fresh water on one side, and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. :) Look forward to another post and some more pictures!

Yeah, I enjoy it too a lot! I have a bachelor in ship design and did a lot of sailing. During my bachelor, we were basically learning what actually happens when you are sailing. Pretty interesting! Windsurfing is very similar only much faster, and even more fun! :) I just googled Hvide Sande, and the first thing that I saw on the map was a place called Surfers Paradise Appartments I guess I need to check that place out if I'm ever in the area :P

Sounds like a great bachelor, do you work within that field now? I agree, a lot of fun with windsurfing, but also technique, balance and some strength :) I'm glad you googled it, you should definitely check it out if you're in the area!

Well, after I've finished my Bachelor I kept studying. I worked a few days a week at a small design company during my master's studies. And currently I somehow I managed to end up in the middle of a PhD on aerodynamics. So I don't have too much work experience. But when I was working in the field I really enjoyed it! If I see a boat or even a surfboard/sail I look differently at the design and things like that :) Always thinking how it might be improved for better performance etc 8-).

I've got some friends in Copenhagen and Malmö which I typically visit by flying. Maybe next summer I should go by car and make a detour to Hvide Sande. Did you ever go there yourself? Do you still do kitesurfing sometimes? I never did so since I need to take some lessons and the prices I've seen were quite steep.

Waouh beautiful picture! Where is it ?
I also do this seven day challenge since yesterday, it's interesting to see the other pictures of the other people :)

Hi @sonastyle, thank you! I took it in the Netherlands at a windsurf spot called Brouwersdam. I took it after windsurfing on the last day of the season. We were enjoying a nice cold beer in the late summer sun :) I really enjoyed this seven days challenge, hope you'll too! Thanks for checking out my stuff!

Waouh I see, it was a really good days so. And yes I think I will enjoy the challenge too, it's really a good idea!!
I will look forward for your next post :)
