Steem is the product of your labour - the most valuable asset you have dedicated to producing it. When it drops, it feels like that labour has been wasted (time & effort poof gone). But, you aren't going to get it back! It's gone and you're left with Steem, if you sell then you really have lost it forever, if you hold onto it it might soon become more valuable than it's ever been.
