ANOMALY CONSUMPTION AND MEAT PRICE IN ACEH

ANOMALY 

The meaning of meat here is beef and buffalo meat. The price of beef / buffalo soars expensive in the local market in Aceh on a certain day, especially on a makmeugang day ahead of Ramadan and holidays and for sacrifices. The consumption of Aceh's per capita meat increased sharply during makmeugang. Meat is not a daily menu in Aceh society. But the meat suddenly became a prima donna in the menu on the show kenduri and makmeugang. On makmeugang day, there is a flesh amok.

The people of Aceh in their daily lives are not meat eaters. Not like Middle Eastern or Western people. It can be said that the pattern of meat consumption of the people of Aceh is the pattern of shock. This is the anomaly of meat consumption.

The consequences of this shock pattern is in the price of meat that rises to make a surprise even though it is already predictable. All prices of goods are determined by demand and supply of goods - Demand and Supply. If demand remains and supply is fixed then the price is stable. If demand increases and supply is not enough the price will soar. If demand is less and supply more the price of goods will fall.

In the meat trade in Aceh, an anomaly begins in the anomalies of meat consumption as I mentioned above. At that time Aceh will lack of meat is predictable. Supply can be done. However, the meat supply ahead of this makmeugang is only 3 times a year, not the normal routine trading. As a result, price happiness due to the mobilization of the shock and trading floor that only created 3 times a year. Increasing the domestic meat production (theoretically) can be done by the investors, but economically the investors will be nervous about the fact that the people of Aceh do not buy meat regularly, will be used meat production meat. If surplus supply of course price will drop. The solution exists, namely exports. But exports must be tied up in supply continuity contracts. The supply is fixed, should not be reduced. This is the trading anomaly.

Continued cattle support from the Government of Aceh continues. During my administration in the period 2007-2012, the community has received tens of thousands of cows and water buffaloes to strengthen cattle / buffalo farms. But what is the effect? It is common knowledge that most recipients fail to be honest with their own proposals. Cattle aid is sold, not farmed. Practically there is no added value here. There is also a breeding but when the cattle are sold, the money is spent all to meet other wishes, forgot to set aside for the procurement of cows / buffalo going new. Make another propagation to the Government of Aceh and, ascertained, will be rejected. So is a bit of anomalous consumption and meat trade in Aceh.

SOLUTION:

1. The existence of investors who want to open a livestock business in Aceh with a record other than production directed to normal contract-based trading, also must prepare its production to be released to the local market at certain times, makmeugang.
