water, friends and enemies

Water is a very important tool for the life of sentient beings. Water as a necessity has been used by humans since ancient times. It is called the Mesopotamian civilization which became the beginning of the century where water became a basic human need. It proved to be located between the river Trigis and Euphrats at that time. Until now people are very dependent on the grace of God this one and not yet known will there be a replacement of water in the future. The earth is 70 percent water. Without water no creatures can live. We need water everyday as drinking water, cleaning, bathing, washing and others. In practice, access to clean water and sanitation is one of the core foundations of a healthy, prosperous and peaceful society. Nearly 50 percent of households in rural and urban areas in Indonesia lack basic services such as these.A good water and sanitation system will generate economic benefits, protect the environment, and be vital to human health. Our society has not realized the importance of cleanliness. Existing hygiene practices are often not conducive to good health, and latrines are not maintained or used properly. The high incidence of diarrhea, skin diseases, intestinal diseases and other water-borne diseases among low-income communities remains a hindrance that often occurs in an effort to improve general child health. In addition to poor access to clean water, the failure to encourage behavioral change especially among low-income families and slum dwellers has exacerbated the water and sanitation situation in Indonesia. Take a look along the river in this aceh, really sad to see it, dirty, dirty and cramped. The community's lack of access to sanitation causes severe financial and economic costs for the Indonesian economy, not only for individuals but also for the public and trade sectors. Poor sanitation, including poor hygiene, causes at least 120 million cases of illness and 50,000 premature deaths each year, with an economic impact of more than 3.3 billion US dollars / year.Poor sanitation is also a significant contributor to water pollution that increases the cost of safe water for households, and decreases fisheries production in rivers and lakes. The economic costs associated with water pollution due to poor sanitation alone have exceeded US $ 1.5 billion / year. In 2006, Indonesia lost 2.3 percent of gross domestic product caused by poor sanitation and hygiene. We must work with communities to build and improve water and sanitation infrastructure, educate residents about better hygiene, contribute to environmental protection, and help people earn revenue from the provision of basic services.
