M1A1 carbine - The folding stock M1A1 carbine was designed as a paratrooper arm that could be easily deployed from its compact configuration in moments. In the skies over Normandy, members of the 101st and 82nd Airborne jumped out of planes, armed with these carbines, and much more. The stock fixture held an oiler and some soldiers attached spare magazines to have them ready for usage. The M1A1 was only made by Inland, one of the eleven contractors to produce the M1 carbine in WWII.
