(Late) Splinterlands Sunday!: Another Season for the Books!

Despite a slow start to this season as I struggled to initially get into Champions Division, it was a slow grind higher within the leaderboards. I spent most of the time outside the top 100 this season as I focused on achieving my Daily Quests for the benefit of my Guild and to continue to maximize a handful of Reward Edition cards which needed some additional amounts. I was also spending a lot of time playing tournaments and maximizing my Energy Capture Rate (ECR) for Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) in order to gauge how much I can accumulate in a short period of time given the seeming importance potions are having to build our collections as of late.

We have continued to see how DEC is becoming a fundamental part of the ecosystem and economy as now even card purchases are able to happen with DEC. This is a further example of how players may continue to build their collections just for playing. Since DEC can be accumulated by playing and by burning cards, it allows a great way to get key cards to improve our collections to improve our competitiveness. I have personally seen how selecting to improve our collections has paid off in increasing my competitiveness in the game. I have continued to buy cards and open Reward Edition cards to seek maximizing some cards.

These efforts have continued to pay off as I was able to grind the last two days of the Season to get into Champion Division I for another 150 Reward Edition Cards! I got one lucky streak towards the last day that allowed me to get over 4,700 Ranked points to secure the spot in the Division. While I remained below it during my last Daily Quest of the Season, I was also able to rebound again towards the end of the season to also be able to get into the Top 50 for a second straight season for the first time ever! This netted me an additional 10 Beta Booster Packs which I continue to hold as the supply continues to dwindle lower; now only 15% remain! I had to watch the last couple of hours closely as I was in the 40th position but many players continued to battle for higher spots which eventually put me at 48th to end the Season.

What was interesting to see was the fact that the points between some of the groups within the Top 50 continue to be smaller every Season. While the top player got 5,552 points last season, number 50 was 5,100. 50 was only 5 points away from where I landed so only one game was really the difference between being in that placement or not. 40th was only 5,124 and 30th 5,223 so each Season sees a smaller variation between the top players. Given how I have been strengthening my collection, I think I can make an effort to run into the Top 25 this coming season. The main achievement I have been able to accomplish is that I now have most of the Summoners at a maximum level. Although I need only three more Summoners to be maxed out, I think I have those that are key to key me into a more competitive landscape next season and for tournaments in the coming days.

Unfortunately, the Reward Cards I got did not include some of the key cards I still need to maximize some of these Reward Edition cards. Specifically, I did not get any Legendary cards which is sad given that the chance of getting one in 150 is pretty high! It must be due to that lucky pull I got a week ago when opening the Beta booster packs! I also compared to other players that opened some cards and it was still worst. I see how some players are using potions to open these Reward cards as well so that may be a consideration for me next season as well as I certainly still want to get some more legendary Reward Edition cards before they too run out.

Lastly, I was recently honored to get a promotion within the membership of my Guild! I am now a Senior Member which is cool as I have been working hard to add value to the guild and engage at our tavern. We are battling strong for the number two spot of guilds and have active communication on how to prepare for future changes and features of the guilds rollout! We certainly don’t have the top players but we have some great dedication when it comes to help each other out during each season. The community continues to demonstrate the potential of what this game can become for sure!
