In an attempt to make myself remain optimistic about the rest of the month, I will begin by stating and identifying the few and insignificant positives I had during June. First, I was able to successfully complete the Wellness challenge in the office by completing well over the minimum 300k steps to achieve the benefits. It surely helped that I was accumulating steps for @actifit as well as it motivated me to reach the goal while on vacation. It was not difficult to do considering the amount of walking we did as a family while visiting some great European cities!
Next, I was able to complete my budgeted amount of caloric burn 28 out of the 30 days in June. This also included completing my activity goals every day in the month despite missing some workouts. The touring did me well but there were a few days that I couldn’t get there. At least this demonstrates that I continue to be committed to completing my workouts to maintain the fitness levels I want to have. In fact, despite the weight gains, I have continued to feel strong in completing my workouts and runs. This leaves me hope in getting back on track with weight losses I need to recover.
My disappointments started early in the month as well as soon after making last month’s post on my achievements, I discovered that my digital scale was substantially off! This was disheartening as it felt as if I had been chasing something wrong from the beginning! My wife realized it when we had the family over and the weight reviews started! It was so embarrassing but has now forced me to start using a good scale at the gym. Unfortunately, even that will be tough to compare as I don’t really wear light workout clothing but I will have to adjust! Therefore, next month the weight chart will return (I really don’t want to know right now)!
As part of the vacation plans, I started to introduce carbs back into my diet a week before travel as I wanted to avoid any digestive issues while on vacation. I also maintained my Intermittent Fasting cycle that first week and was accomplishing 2 hour feeding windows to compensate for the carbs. However, I immediately started to see the weight come back and soon after landing in Europe, all bets were off from a dietary perspective. Despite trying my best to moderate my intake in general, the sweets were too available and enticing for me to resist.
It only got worst as the vacation continued as I continued to be tempted by the delicacies of Greece like baklava and their cheeses! Following the first stop at an Italian city, I truly gave up as there is nothing like fresh homemade pasta! Upon my return home, I have found myself struggling to not only get back into the Intermittent Fasting routine but also staying away from carbs once again! I am trying to ease back into it wile remaining active at the gym and on the treadmill as my annual 5K race is coming up soon and I am striving to beating my best time ever but the weight is concerning me although I have time to adjust.
I have extended my streak of months posting every day on @actifit as I continue to be motivated mostly by the rewards and community here on Steem. While it is no longer the biggest vote I get, it continues to be consistent and engaging as the community continues to grow and prove the benefits of blockchain technology and what Steem and its community has built and fostered over the last two years. While not being the main reason I make an effort to be active in my fitness, it is definitely a portion that continues to bring me closer to my goals over time while engaging here. I am hoping that next month will get me back on track!

I have been working out with my friends recently and because they are in so much better shape then I am I tend to fall behind. I was doing a chest workout and for the last few days my elbows are killing me. I can’t straighten my arms because of elbow pain but I think Ill be okay

Always important to go at a pace that your body can keep up with. If not, you can hurt yourself and make the goal even more difficult to achieve.
