Grandparents are great, they are such a rich source of culture and history, I really am kicking myself I didn’t sit down with mine when they were alive to really find out more about their lives.
It won’t be long before the concept of living in a world war with real tangible consequences blurs into history, kept alive by the odd Hollywood blockbuster.
Thanks for sharing.
I only grew up with my grandfather on my mother's side. My father's family was somewhat estranged from him. However, I learned a lot from my grandfather. I could only ask him a little at a time though lol. He wasn't much of a converstionalist, so it would irritate him when I would ask him a lot of questions at once. He was a great grandpa, just had to go at his pace. I wish I knew more about my entire family.
