Last week the posts was about the best bet of the week. Not only we did want to encourage interaction between the members but we also did add a bounty to this post!

This week I do want to give you all a platform on which you can post your worst bet of the week! Do the walk of shame and share with us what your worst bet of the week was!
This week no bounty because we don't want to celebrate a loosing bet. But still we do find it important to know what your worst bet was and if you did learn anything for it, or if there is a way how you can prevent fellow SBC members from making the same mistake!

And yes, we all have a bad bets. Bets where you knew that this wasn't enough value in. Bet with odds below 1.2 which seemed a guarantee but which did not land.
Bets were everybody was thinking, he has gone berserk but still you made the bet and are now getting the comments: I told you so!

But remember not all loosing bets are bad bets. If there was value some type of bets can deliver a profit over time! And do remember that sports betting is a marathon and not a sprint!

Cheers,
The SBC core team!

2 bets. Southampton to win. Danny Ings to score at anytime. I should know better by now!

I did made the same mistake twice this week.
Twice I did place 2 bets on one game and the two bets where too much related with each other. In both cases it was betting on the over 2.5 and one of the team AH -1.
In both cases the game did end in a scoreless draw!
I should not place 2 bets on the same game, because most of the time these bets are derived from the same analysis so probably both would have the same mistake!

Worst bet for me was Anderlecht +0.5 @ 2.04 because my notes from previous weeks clearly stated "Bet Anderlecht vs bad teams, oppose Anderlecht vs Good teams" (which turned out to be accurate)

I though Anderlecht were further in their development. I did hedge out part of the bet though, but should just have closed to position fully instead of hoping to get a middle.

My worst bet last week was clearly the live bet BSC YB Bern vs Dinamo Zagreb. I had already placed a bet on BSC YB before the game. Then at the stadium and after a few beers and lead by emotions I placed another one on them winning. The game was 1:1 at this time and the ref gave a dangerous free kick and I thought "He is gonna score and then we win!". The things I learned (or I hope I learned this time since it's not the first) not to bet based by emotions and not be greedy, I already had a bet and if he would have scored I would have made some profit, but I wanted more.

I prefer not to talk about bad bets. The best thing to forget about them!

actually it's not. If anything the best thing to do is take a closer look at the bad bets instead of the good ones and learn so it will save/win you money next time :)

Like @costanza wrote their is nothing wrong with a bad bet as long as you learn from it. Even the biggest gamblers in the world make bad bets, but what differentiates them from us is that they learn from it! They do see it as an lesson learned move on, and don't make the same mistake anymore!
