A cover for my graphic novel "Android Blues", that I've been working on for almost 20 years.
It's about an android of course, created by humans for our own nefarious purposes, and immediately on activation she ends up in a really bad situation. The ultimate exploitation of an innocent. Soon I'll post a few pages of it.
Some of the process - I modeled the character in Maya, and applied lighting, then painted over that in Photoshop:

I guess 3d modelling for properly laying volumes and lighting really helps speeding up the process, I used to do a bit of 3d modelling and animation for modding videogames some years ago.

Really loving your work. It's evocative, sexy without being porn-y, and each image tells such a great story. I'm also impressed how much you can make digital work look like it was done with traditional materials.
