This is going to be a two-part post since there is so much to cover I do not believe I can do it justice in one post.
The @steemhunt team showed themselves to be one of the most innovative on this blockchain. They received an enormous delegation from Steemians by being the first to offer their token in exchange for SP delegated to their account. In addition, they did a full airdrop to Steemians with a 1:1 match for anyone who took advantage of it.
Since that time, they continued to offer individuals ways to add to their Hunt holdings by doing different things on their site. The most obvious is posting content on there and/or upvoting others. This earns everyone Hunt based upon a variety of factors. They do use account based voting as opposed to stake based which means smaller accounts can amass coins based upon factors other than SP.
Those who read my articles know I love those applications that have a team which is constantly adding and upgrading. @steemhunt is one that goes all out with what they are doing.
One of the things that caught my attention is they are totally committed to Steem. They goal is to enrich everyone on the blockchain by pushing forward with things that help everyone. I will write more about this in the second part.
The other aspect of this project that I love is that it is not Steem-only. What I mean by that is they are already taking the next step to reach outside the Steem ecosystem. This is crucial. It is one thing to have a lot of traffic but, let us be honest, no great heights are going to be reached with 60K daily transacting accounts.
@steemhunt is focusing upon promotion. One of my views is we are witnessing a new paradigm shift. The traditional social media companies are able to offer their platforms at no charge because the place ads all over the place. While this is successful at this time, if the move towards decentralization keeps growing, which I believe it will, then a new promotion model is required.
This project provides a model that companies which are technology based can implement.
Through Reviewhunt, companies with new products can garner attention by creating a bounty program for the hunters on @steemhunt. It is through this that other people who enjoy those products will see them. This effectively generates word-of-mouth advertising.
The company is not only placing the product in front of people who enjoy and use technological products, it is also benefiting and utilizing the relationship the Hunters have with the entire ecosystem. This, again, will place their product in front of more eyes who are of high interest.
They also have another layer called Ideahunt which allows for Hunters to use the Hunt token to buy products that are promoted. At the same time, companies or innovators can use this platform as a crowdfunding campaign. We might even see this expanded when the SMTs come out and Hunt Power can be delegated.
In other words, this opens up another level for outsiders to finance their projects by tapping into the Hunt ecosystem and, in turn, Steem.
None of this is new. All of this is on their website but I wanted to show, for those who are not aware, the reach this application is seeking to attain.
One of the primary benefits is that promotion will be done by companies buying Hunt which to use as a bounty. Of course, as we know in the crypto world, getting on exchanges, especially those that can get your token bought for fiat is crucial.
Here is where we see this team take the lead. In fact, they could be setting the stage for every coin that is created using the SMT protocol.
In a post yesterday, the @steemhunt team announced they forged a partnership with Tokenomia by Chain Partners. This is a Korean company that advises blockchain projects. Unlike many which just help with an ICO, this one does a bit more.
...they focus on how the blockchain product can create a user-based fundamental that will attract companies and many other market players.
In other words, they help projects evolve into businesses that other businesses and market participants will want to utilize. This is a big step in reaching outside the Steem ecosystem in an effort to draw others in.
Tokenomia also has a cryptocurrency exchange. According to the post, they opened it two weeks ago and they already rank in the top 12 globally in 24 hr trading volume.
Obviously, one of the first priorities is to get Hunt listed on the exchange. This will require them adopting the SMT protocol. After that, assisting Hunt in being on other global exchanges will be sought.
Of course, once Hunt is listed it opens the door for other coins that are created using the SMT protocol. In addition to the internal market which will convert a SMT to STEEM, this will allow for the conversion to any other token on those exchanges.
Something like this could be massive to those projects that create SMTs.
Another priority will be the funneling of businesses to @steemhunt. This will be done to create promotional campaigns using the Hunters already present on Steem. As more "geeks" join this application, it will only enhance the attractiveness to companies looking to promote their products.
The relationship with Tokenomia will aid in this process by reaching out to companies that can use this service.
That is enough about that content for right now. I will cover the rest in my next article.
We tend to focus out attention on STEEM and the price potential there. Few of us take the time to ponder the idea that a SMT could actually become more valuable than STEEM itself. There is nothing that says a coin like Hunt cannot absolutely explode. There are 500M tokens being issued which means it is a little less than double the number of STEEM presently outstanding.
I used the title I did for a reason. Obviously it is impossible to guess what DApp will be the most valuable. However, one thing that we should focus upon is the fact that @steemhunt is catering to businesses. Their model focuses upon commerce. Forming a partnership with a company that can help facilitate that is a worthwhile move. Plus, having an exchange(s) where companies can purchase the token means they are establishing demand.
The amount of money spent on promotion around the world is into the trillions. Most companies look at this as an investment. Reaching consumers for products is a priority. If blockchain keeps growing and expanding. a model like this could be effective for those entities trying to reach the proper eyeballs.
What is really exciting about all this is that Steemians who partake in this process are rewarded for their efforts. There is incentive for each of us who are interested in that type of thing to participate. The companies come to the table with their fiat yet Steemians will be rewarded in Hunt which, in turn, can be used to purchase products that are promoted on the platform.
This team gets it. They truly understand the token economy and what crypto-economics is all about. As you can see from the simple example I just gave, they are creating a self-contained ecosystem where the Hunt token is the medium of exchange.
These are power moves made by people who have a vision. This is a project to keep a close eye upon.
And the best part, and the subject of my next post, is their total commitment to the Steem ecosystem.

@taskmaster4450 I have been thinking of asking you if you could make a List of all The SMT's that are currently in initial or fully developed stages.
I only know about a few like @steemhunt @actifit and there was something Medic. It would be very helpful for me as well as many others to have a list to check.

This slightly reminds me of Kickstarter or indiegogo, or I am wrong? At least that part for promoting other companies products and helping them achieve and realize their goals. I don't have enough RC as i joined steem just recently so i probably won't be able to replay if you awnser me. I like the way you described it, will take a look for sure.
One more thing intrigued me as well.
"They do use account based voting as opposed to stake based which means smaller accounts can amass coins based upon factors other than SP."
Quite a news for people like me :D

I think the project has done an excellent job going from concept to development in a short timeframe which demonstrates their ability to execute. Given this roadmap, the potential is bery good for the future. I also think that this could be a great business case for future projects also in the concept phase for their own SMT. This will foster an environment of development on the ecosystem which ultimately adds value to Steem as well.
