Sierra Hot Springs!

in busy •  7 years ago  (edited)

It was my first time going to a hot spring. This place is such a nice place! I highly recommend it. We also camp there for a night. It must have been 2 to 3 years since I last slept in a tent.

I really enjoy camping and sleeping in a tent. I even slept a whole summer in a tent in my parent's backyard.

Anyway, back to the Sierra Hot Springs!

A hot spring is a spring produced by the emergence of geothermally heated groundwater that rises from the Earth's crust. While some of these springs contain water that is a safe temperature for bathing, others are so hot that immersion can result in injury or death.

I don't think we have some hot springs around my neck of the wood, so that's one of the reasons I never had the chance to enjoy them.

It's a 2 hours 30 minutes drive from Sacramento. The landscapes there are so beautiful. There are nice mountains and lakes everywhere.

Those hot springs are the "hippie" kind of hot springs so anyone can enjoy their nakedness or not depending on how they feel about it.

By the way, the term hippie has probably been invented by some social engineer to marginalize certain behavior they deemed undesirable or by some plastic people for similar reasons.

In one spot there's a large pool with some temperate water and another much smaller pool with much hotter water. There are also 2 small baths with super cool water.

The smaller pool can accommodate around 10 persons and has sand all over its floor which feels so good on the feet. The water has quite a strong sulphuric smell but it's not necessarily annoying. It's also very viscous.

There's also another small pool with temperate water on the other side of the camping.

The camping and Hot Springs rates are super cheap which help make this place even more awesome!

After Bota Bota Spa, I thought spas where a good place to meet a possible date, well I can definitely say they are no match with naked hot springs.

One has to be prepared to date hippies but at least naked hot spring clearly reduce the chance of bad surprises for when it's time to get naked later in the relationship.

But more seriously, I highly recommended this place. It's definitely worth it, whether or not you've ever been to a hot spring!

The camping site is also awesome! There's a communal kitchen where everyone has access to a refrigerator, stove and a small dining room where hippies love to hang out!

This hammock is a camping must. I even seen people sell their place to go live in the wood with these as their "home".

And that pop-up tent we slept in is pretty cool and comfy. It really takes less than a second to set up but can be very tricky to fold back.

Again, I'm super greatful @karensuestudios and @acromott brought me to this awesome spot!

Well said!

Another thing I like to do is sit back and take in nature. To look at the birds, listen to their singing, go hiking, camping and jogging and running, walking along the beach, playing games and sometimes being alone with the great outdoors. It's very special to me.
Have a safe trip.

That is the one of the amazing and wonderful to trip in the hot springs but especially with friends and living altogether in a camping tent and enjoying everything ...
Also the taste of sleeping in the tent particulary in the nights is incredable and priceless..
I can imagine how happy and amazing feeling is this..

in my country there are thermal waters that are fantastic, their temperature allows that the bath is pleasant at any time, I went with my family some years ago and I still remember it, there was only a slight smell of sulfur but nothing that would overshadow the visit, also take advantage of using the clay present in the thermal waters, they say it is good and curative! so I hope you enjoy your stay!
Sometimes we don't need 5-star hotels to be in harmony.

This is luxury combined with beautiful treatment for such a little amount of money, the features are so amazing, so which one did you sign up for? The daily? Or monthly?

Very good post excellent work very interesting information you support me with a vote of contribution

Looks like an amazing area and the spa sounds fantastic .. the last one I went to was just outside Jasper national park, like Bota spa they had hot spring next to a freezing cold one and the contrast between the two was so invigorating! As for the tent, I bought a pop-up tent and have never been able to pack it away .. it's still in a friends garage as I had no space to store it, I will give it another go .. soon :)

Look on Youtube for a 1 minute video. That's how we were finally able to fold it. Once we looked at the video it took us 2 minutes to figure it out.

Thank you @teamsteem I will admit that I was attempting to pack it away following a music festival, so perhaps I wasn't as on the ball as I could have been .. but youtube is a fantastic idea! :)

Great blog! Ive been to several hot springs already in Chile, Bolivia and Colombia but yours seems nice too! The hammock is super practical. Tickettothemoon sells them to many backpackers right now. I am looking forward to more travel content from teamsteem. Seems like fun following you guys.

Hello @teamsteem

Am @dhavey from steemit. And am here to seek your hand in something. There is this interview program I already started and have interviewed @reggaemuffin and @exyle. It was an awesome interview which everyone loved. That is why I have to to you this day to please be part of the interview. And this last Wednesday I interviewed adsactly-witness. I tried chatting with you on discord but not going through.

I envy you. I'd really like to go there someday. Thank you.

We have lodging establishments like this here in Israel. They are called: צימרים, Tzimmers.

Great stuff. Hot springs feed the soul. Harbin Hot Springs in Cali is my favorite, but sadly was taken by wildfires. I hear they're rebuilding though. The old one was incredible - I'd head there after a stressful week of work and forget my worries.

I loved your post, and read about your trips (as always)
But I must confess that what I liked most was this
