According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, EOS means "The Greek Goddess of DAWN"

Does this have anything to do with the reason why the test-nets for EOS are called Dawn 1.0, Dawn 2.0 and (now we have) Dawn 3.0?

EOS is the dawn of a new era of blockchain computing. It's going to bring in a new dawn where applications would be easier, scalable, and more usable.

What if it were an acronym?

Some of the best meanings of EOS includes

Epic Operating System
Economic Operating System
Enterprise Operating System.

We can see from the above-proposed names that the OS means Operating System. We are not sure what the "E" stands for. We can argue about it.

But the fact remains that EOS is epic, it's a different economic system and it's going to change the modus operandi of business enterprises. Perhaps in the future EOS will become so popular like the internet that no one would need to ask for what it means. I look forward to when EOS will be added to the dictionary.

But EOS doesn't mean Ewedu and Okra Soup. That's just ridiculous...
