There was a point in my life that this song became the number one song in my heart and in my mouth. I once had very low self-esteem and I was just adverse to trying new things.

I Hope you Dance by Gladys Knight

Sometimes, you wanna do something and you are afraid. Sometimes you just wanna throw in the towel and settle. Don't settle! Don't be afraid to reach for greatness. Don't be afraid to try stuff even when it feels like you don't have the capacity to pull through. When you take that step of faith, God will grant you favor and strength.

"I Hope You Dance" By Gladys Night"

I got the lyrics of the song from www.azlyrics.com

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty-handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you’ll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance

The entire second verse is golden. I'm just going to highlight the whole thing.

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they’re worth taking
Lovin’ might be a mistake
But it’s worth making
Don’t let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance

My favorite lines were:

Don’t let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out Reconsider

At the particular point in my life when I was listening to this song, I was emotionally traumatized. Someone I trusted betrayed me and I was so bitter. I would put those lines part of the song in a loop and listen to it over and over again.

I really liked the way that Gladys Knight articulated and expressed those lines. Thank you, Gladys!

Today, I'm grateful for this song and other songs like this. There are songs that encourage you and raise you up when you are in doubt or when you are in fear.

Special thanks to everyone that participated in the challenge yesterday.

We all should be grateful to music, they lift our spirits when we are down, like they say, there's a song for every mood.

Those lyrics are so powerful, they will give any heart a reason not to give up. Thanks for bringing such wonderful music to our notice, I surely will be listening to it for the next couple of days.

I would like to participate in this gratitude challenge for the first time but I don't know what to number my challenge, I dont know whether to start counting from 1 or 41??
