Help Me Earn (maybe) a Stingy Token.

in busy •  6 years ago

Everyone knows I don't think we flag enough... (Well, if you follow me at all)

image.png

I don't think we should flag for discussion or topics that are unpopular, but I hate watching people who are just not putting out any effort, get rewarded while others that are here and working all of the time are working see their rewards and the value of their investment go down.

So when @inertia announced STINGY token I knew I had to work on earning one.

What is a STINGY Token you ask?

Here is @inertia's announcement
https://steemit.com/steemengine/@inertia/stingy-token-powered-by-steem-engine

The last couple of hours I've looked through the bidbots looking for a post and an account to flag that was "taking advantage" of how the Steem Community is afraid to flag.

I found this account that posts YouTube videos without a single line of text and upvotes them generously using the bots.

https://steemit.com/health/@orgoniteog/bruce-lee-workout-includes-dragon-flag

So, not only is this not @orgoniteog's work, but he didn't include a single line of text on the post.

If you agree this does not deserve to be rewarded - first open @inertia's post and OPT IN. Then help me flag the post to zero.

Let's see if we can motivate people to redirect rewards back to the reward pool and to those who are working on Steem each day.

Also, if you have strong thoughts or feelings about flagging and using bots to promote links feel free to join the discussion in the comment section!

Ur crazy, there is no rule we need to write anything, there is no rule that says you can’t post a video without text!

This is stupid and a negative waste of time, if someone spends steem on upvotes It should be their choice! It takes time money crypto and effort pushing buttons signing transactions to help market and invest money on yourself!

I don’t do it that much, but if I feel like it I will spend money on bots to get my post a better ranking and maybe catch a bite or two! If I decide to just start posting videos without text I don’t want to be bothered!

All you flangers should just concentrate on yourselves and not others!

There I flagged your post maybe I can make a stingy too?

????

I should ????
Really?

Don't tell me what should I do, and I will not tell you - where should you go.

Nice, I love seeing my text In big fancy bold, and with gradients too it makes it look so official! Wow I did not realize I made up a new word flangers!

As a guitarist - deeply offended. Flangers are QUINTISSENTIAL :)

His not talking about linking your own videos and promoting it. There is nothing wrong with that but when you just put a link to someone else’s content on YouTube or whatever and use 100 Steem to buy upvotes for that post your abusing the upvote bot that way and by doing so taking away from the total reward pool that should be going to quality content creators. You shouldn’t have anything to worry about if your just posting your own videos without text.

Yeah, but it is legal as long as they site their source to post anyone’s video and blog and or monetize it! The worst it can do is attract the original content creator to steemit to claim his rewards by posting the original content here first!

Yeah well that takes some text in the post to correctly site your source. His talking more about the people who straight up abuse it. I personally don’t like flagging myself I rather upvote good content but I barely have any SP.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Oh yeah, duh then it would not be a textless post! You right, they would definitely need to get flagged for doing that because not citing sources is the crime!

The post does not site a source nor even state why he thinks it is interesting. It literally is a Bruce Lee workout.. without any context.

if someone spends steem on upvotes It should be their choice

And if someone chooses to downvote, its their choice as well.

This is what people don't get

Excellent I have rewarded your comment for flagging me! I love it and encourage it.

Dunno if he'll get any rewards after I flagged it though. 😁

Nice, thanks!🙏

I also use the bots when I have something worthy of visibility. While you are correct in assuming there are no rules, as a community, we have our flags and nothing else to try to influence the type of content that receives rewards.

I respect and even agree with some of what you've said about paying to post is often fine. :)

Some beginners only know how to share a video/link, as long as your bot can differentiate!

I actually spent about an hour finding a post and an account that clearly wasn't trying at quality at all.

Maybe that is just his art, he poops out stinky/stingy tokens! Lol gotta watch out these guys are smart, once they find out the stingys are worth more we may get a pletheria of spam pop up just to make stingys! So you never know what could happen! Lol

That's true. I view the entire thing as an experiment and always have! :)

@garudi is a whack job cunt who has spent a few too many days off her meds. @garudi it's time to take a trip back to the hospital where you belong, they'll take good care of you there and make sure you don't harm yourself. Crazy cunt needs some meds!!!

@whatsup,
Yeah innovative idea but how this token distribution might happen and how could it get a marketing value?
Moreover, people could abuse their voting power to make this token too! Hope with a relevant and effective mechanism this might be a good idea to build on SMT!

Cheers~

...I won't say a word..I'm busy...(mostly trying to cool down....)

Stingy all the Initiatives

that is 100% yes right there!

Still doing good WU!! I’ll help

If you sell your vote to a middleman you get less than the full value of your vote.
If you call @steemflagrewards, and list a category, you get more than the full value of your vote.
Not flagging abuse is costing minnows money.

I've got .34 stingy, already!

Sent my flag that way. More will follow soon.

It may be me but I have still yet to understand the concept behind serial flagging. Sure, flagging is important to ensure the best distribution of the rewards pool but the ability to flag just because you want to raises issues with me. I have always been of the thought it is better to ignore than penalize but respect those who do. Maybe I should look to give my first ever flag soon...

This post has been included in the latest edition of SoS Daily News - a digest of all you need to know about the State of Steem.

Here is why I disagree with this. Everybody preaches we need marketing, onboard new users, spread the word how awesome Steem is. Nobody talks about taking care of existing users.

Sure some go ways we may not like to find their edge in the game of getting rewards, but that doesn’t mean they should be punished. While you may choose to embrace flags, others will take it as an attack.

I say, take care of existing users. Befriend them, show alternative options. Please don’t drive people away. These are real people, not bots.

Feel free to flag the whales though :) They are better equipped to counter the flags.

I am not really seeking level 40 noobs. I hear your point and thank you for sharing your opinion.

I also think it is important to treat people decently and when I flag I usually leave a message that is polite along with the flag!

Treating end users nicely is important.

My sp is too low to make a dent. Maybe once I get more of it.

Reporting things like the video to steemcleaners is a way to get things flagged down. I have seen them work very effectively vs content stealers.

I tried to report someone reposting other people's videos to dTube to steemcleaners, but they says they don't do videos.

Sadly enough I was getting the can't do anything about this issue either and the guy reposted 4 videos. Well I guess I got that other account taken care of.

For video cases, you need to hit up @steemflagrewards and/or @runicar of @dcleaners.

Like you have already done, hit up the promotional services.

He appears to be using smartsteem so I'll be going to their discord to see what can be done.

Good luck. Let us know what responses you get.

I just can't get over the fact that the post has the word flag at the end of the title. Does that mean it was just asking for one? XD

I also agree, people who just repost from other sites without any effort of at least writing anything should probably not be upvoted.

But it is not better to place check at the bidbot end. How easily people bidbot upvotes or I say curate such post...without even looking at the quality of authenticity? May be later we get some plagiarism content too getting high upvotes...these bigger bidbot owner too need to put a check somehow to avoid accepting such bids...

Posted using Partiko Android

I can't control the bidbot owners. I can control what I choose to vote on or flag.

That true....we can put check where we can.....I was just checking how bot owners allowing such thing happen....there are some reputed name among the bot owners...and they advocating against these users but indirectly they supporting them
