Let others handle promotion, engagement and development.
Don't Flag, because that is rude.
Minnows can continue to not buy in while complaining because Steem was meant to be free money for everyone, and YES... That money should be easy and free! Otherwise, it isn't fair.
Let as many people as want to post a bunch of trash on the site, cause... Servers are free.
Please, Please.. Keep stacking as many tokens as you can, with zero consideration of building value!

The STEEM price in all likelihood has next to nothing to do with what goes on on this site.
That's the factor that removes any kind of skin in the game from the stakeholders who can just mess around on the platform with zero regard for anything.

I did see a rather depressing post the other day that said we only had about 12000 active users. I thought that was one of the worst pieces of news I've seen.
We need new blood, and the means to encourage them. It is all rather glum at the moment but at least there are still some great posters here.

It will all be fine. The DApps will save us, the guys at musing and dlike and partiko etc seem to be working their socks off...Steem will survive, just perhaps slightly differently to what we're used to :-)

my suggestion would be to make everyone understand that our "social networking thing" flags, trash contents or creating/curating quality content etc is not what sets the price of Steem.
Traders buy and sells tokens just by looking into charts not what they offer. All the price changes happened due to pump/dumps. Not because we start to create magnificent content or orcas decided to curate minnows.

It does seem that some people who should know better don't care about this platform having a future. I remember well when Steem was 8c and below, but I kept using it because it was fun. That paid off as whatever I made is worth a lot more now, but it's not just about money for me. We need good people staying active and encouraging others. Then we may even see $8.

Every day I check all the cryptos I'm watching several times, and Steem has been very much average - they have all gone down about the same amount this year.
I think if Steem goes down to 8c all the other cryptos will do the same. And now that I've already dropped 90% of the crypto $ I had in January there is no point freaking out.
But no, I don't think Steem will crash, I think it will improve if cryptos come up, but stay where it is now if they don't.

It does feel like that is the direction that we are heading sometimes. I do see some people trying to make good content and not being drawn into the usual cycle of complaining and drama so that does give me some hope for the future here.
I, personally, have been slacking off more than I would like this week but that is more because real life has intruded into my content creation plans. I, unfortunately, had to have my dog put down because he was very old, dying, and a great deal of pain and that left me pretty devastated. I liked taking pride in adding value to this site with my content but recent events seem to have drained me of my creativity at the moment.
I certainly hope we "fail" to reach that "goal" of .08 though. I like this place and the people here. Plus, I don't think anyone is going to read my ramblings anywhere else and I would hate to lose this outlet that I have found in this place.
