I powered up everything including my SBD for over 2.5 years.
I also bought some Steem.
I manually curate
My posts regularly get 20-50 comments.
:) I guess that's a problem if you don't think engagement is the goal.
That's my point, I don't think writing a great post that no one cares about is the goal. Write somethng engaging and make friends.
However, if you do think I am over rewarded.. please feel free to downvote me as I appreciate that we all have different views and should use our stake to back them up.
grats, you had the good fortune to find your niche. i never said that you dont engage. i just think community leaders who talk about how to improve the community and get people to join our platform should realize taking money out of the platform right now when steem is nosediving looks like a sign of fear, and a lack of support for the platform they are espousing - while at the same time telling everyone else that they shouldnt be so serious about "it". how very vague and comforting, "don't worry be happy"?

If you followed my blog and I am not unhappy that you don't, different strokes for different folks.
You would know my light powerdown and selling is a protest regarding the HF21 changes and how I DON"T support them and don't think they are good for the smaller bloggers.
I don't tell people to buy right now, and frankly I think our stakeholders will likely at some point not want to support the bloggers at all and I think that is the wrong direction to take.
My post tonight, while vague to you is about the fact that I think Steem should be a social network that is friendly, easy to use and encourages people to chat, visit, post casually and enjoy. That has been my message for 3 years. :)
Cheers!

you are correct, i dont follow your posts religiously and nor did i do research on past posts. i hear you a bit on radio but for the most part i disconnect because there is so much back and forth that i grow weary of inaction. i dont know you and yes i have been harsh on you tonight and for that i apologize. you didnt deserve all my vitriol.
im sick from seeing the price of steem drop and not hearing any clear assurance from leaders, who seem all to have faded into the wood and have "nothing to say".
im done with the greed and misdirection i see lately. im not sure any protest to steemit will stop what the leaders and whales want and that is a fault within the platform, where the minority rule the majority.
That fault continues to go unaddressed because we cant afford to piss off big money, even while they dictate terms and appear to believe that we should just accept that we will get screwed, like in any free market system.
imho protests in the form of a bit of stake by a few people wont change anything. in order to send an effective message the question should be do we move away from steemit totally and start a new crypto with responsible balanced leadership, or just accept what is.
as long as whales matter more than the majority of users, imho steem will continue to exist off the sweat of the workers, who will get dregs, while the whales will continue to play games to their benefit.
the only hope we have, as i see it, is to pool our resources and make a consortium with the power to address whales at their own or greater level.

While i've had some of the same thoughts...
My hope right now is that the tribes will help fill that need.
I'm putting much of my energy there while we wait.
The get rich quick people will burn out when the easy money is gone and I hope we can rebuild when we get there.
