However we know the Doom 2 as the the world's first successful 3D shooter, the conception of the game works great in 2D as well. This is proven by a recently released game, which remakes the conception of the original Doom in the style of so-called platform games.
The MiniDoom 2 practically remake the monsters and maps of the Doom 2 in the two dimension world, quarter century after the release of the original game. In the game, the player control the well-known Doomguy and have to fight with the monsters loosen from the hell - with the difference that he/she can move along only two axis: up and down and left and right.
In the MiniDoom 2, everything is the same as in the Doom 2 - Just with one less dimension.
In the game the fight goes on with the monsters on 17 levels, where the player may use the well-known weapons from the Doom 2 - and, of course, the system of the power ups is also similar to the classic game.
The best however is that the MiniDoom 2 is downloadable completely freely from the website of the creators.
