There is no doubt for the only answer: sea food. Definitely! What can I eat when I'm traveling to the beach huh? But sea foods in Lang Co has an amazing flavor that I have never tried before.
First of all we are talking about "Vẹm xanh nướng mỡ hành". So basically Vẹm is a kind of oyster but more valuable. The texture of Vẹm is a little bit chewy. Fresh Vẹm from the morning market cooked on charcoal always is the best. If you put in Vẹm some of the mixture of cooking oil, chopped onions and eggs, you'll have the best dish ever!
Rock crabs are smaller than normal crabs you have seen on the supermarket. But their shell seems harder and those pincers look really sharp. So be careful because you might hurt yourself when eating this. I love the flavor combinations between steamed rock crabs and lemon grass, ginger.
Squid in Lang Co is so fresh and tasty. My grandmother cut those squid into small pieces and cooked them on charcoal in 10 minutes. Then we had a delicious crispy plate of fresh squid. If you want to raise its flavor, just simple enjoy your meal with a bottle of beer. That's secret!!
Squid noodles sounds weird huh? But it exists in Lang Co and it was so damn good believe me. Look at those tiny little squids in that bowl. Awnnnnn
You also should try some kind of snack in Lang Co. My grandmother bought me hundreds pieces of them to bring back home.Bánh ram ít, bánh nậm, bánh lọc, chè đậu ván, etc. They all have interesting taste, some has shrimp inside. For only VND.100,000 (about $5 I guess), I thought she could buy the whole market. Unbelievable cheap!!
