Back to the drawing board

in buyanupvote •  7 years ago  (edited)

I am a little bummed and confused that no one entered a contest I held over the last week. I guess I will have to go back to the drawing board and revamp it and start it maybe on a different day of the week. I am really surprised because this is the largest prize I have offered on a contest and I have ran a few before and had entries. I don't know what about this one that turned people off that they didn't enter.

Maybe it got pushed down or people got busy. I don't know but I won't let that stop me from trying to help others grow on the platform and for myself to also grow. I have met some amazing steemians on here. The list really goes on and on. I love the collaboration I see on this platform. We are all apart of something special. I wish the spam wasn't getting in the way of the creative efforts of those who are creating original content, who are trying to promote creativity, that is the one downside of the platform. We need to figure out a better way to combat the spam posts than what is in place. Do I have that answer no, some ideas that are not fully formed yes, but there has to be a way we can improve that aspect on stemmit.

I am going back to the drawing board with the contest and will list a revamped up contest in the nest few days. The physical prize will be the same but I may increase the SBD since I currently have more in my account than I had last week.

It must have gotten pushed down in the huge stream of posts made at the time you posted. And that's been happening a lot to me too. The time of posting is something to be definitely considered. Came across a post by @jerrybanfield a few days ago. He's suggesting we look at this: https://joticajulian.github.io/steem-activity/index.html?account=jerrybanfield (Just substitute with your name) to determine the best times for posting.

sweet thanks for the link @sandzat

For newbies this is an example of how to properly link something into a comment, as you see @sandzat post a link relevant to the comment, and it isn't a link to her own post. She is a good steemian, be like @sandzat comment with relevancy.

I missed it too although I was on a short vacation. I do follow you and look forward to what you do next!

Some people on Steemit are on here for articles and just skim by contests. I don't mind them at all and I do enter in some from time to time but usually I'm just on here to as an alternative source for news. Steemit is weird cause its halfway between a blogging service and social media platform.

I am here for mainly articles myself but occasionally enter a contest or two here and there. I been collaborating with other steemians and we are selling our art so we are using the platform to promote it, we hope it will eventually grow to be a place where other steemian artist will come together to show and sell their work. We even can take bitcoin on the site.

Good to see someone takes the art in so importance. I wish you best of luck for this because i am an art lover while i do some little art in life.

I'm not sure which contest it was but... Sometimes posts just get lost in all the clutter.
Personally..telling players to resteem in order to qualify is a turn off for me. I will resteem if it's a good contest but not some random guess the number type contest.
Also, Being able to enter a contest in the comments is much more appealing than the Make a post and use this tag entry.
Just my random thoughts. :)

Hi, I decided to support the #contests and #contest. I will follow you. With me apvote
