Lightning is one of natures most beautiful displays of power and raw energy. We have lots of it here in Sedona Arizona USA however it mostly occurs every summer during the North American Monsoon season. Convective thunderstorms are a product of the sun heating the earth and subsequent convection of the moisture filled air above it. High pressure rotation and sometimes low pressure rotation cause's the sub-tropical air to flow north into Arizona bringing with it the chemistry that produces amazing thunderstorms. This image is being entered in daveks BW photo contest and was shot on film with a canon A2-E camera.

I just saw @apolymask talking about his dad's great photo and I had to come and have a look. Things are as well as to be expected with me; I'm not sure if you knew, but my husband has cancer, not doing great, but we are enjoying every day that life has to offer us. And I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes, but how is Spring Break affecting you? I was a teacher for years and understand your statement completely, but I'm just not really 'getting' it :)

Spring break is at the heart of sedona's busiest tourist season of the year. My business is mostly tourist oriented and every year at Spring break town fills with people and traffic and business takes off and that's where the work comes in. Its the time of year when so many different things happen at once and every year I become overwhelmed during this time but relief doesn't usually come until around the end of may.
