When I vote, my voting power decreases by 2% each time. My understanding is that 10 votes per day would be ideal, reducing your percentage from 100% to 80%, and that you will be back up to 100% power within 24 hrs. (Voting power takes 5 days to regenerate from 0% up to 100%, therefore 20% per day)

IMPRESSIVE TREE TRUNK.
I just did the exercise Keith. I gave 4 or perhaps 5 upvotes and my percentage went down to 92.66% but my voting power is still zero. I don't know what we have to do to give them value but I guess we will find out soon. I want to do one more upvote so will zip over to your place and enjoy the view there.

OK, I understand... there is a difference between voting power % and your voting worth. Your voting worth, and mine, probably shows as $0.00, but in fact, you might notice after giving an upvote that the post goes in question does go up by $0.01
In any case, what you need to do to gain voting power is build up your SP (Steem Power)
If you have some steem dollars you can sell them for Steem on the market, and once you have the steem, you can "power up" to convert that into Steem Power
I just went through the exercise of selling 1.3 Steem dollars for 1.411 Steem, and I then powered up the steem into SP. It all took about 5 minutes and I did it by following the steps in this article: https://steemkr.com/steemit/@theywillkillyou/beginner-basics-your-steemit-wallet-steem-vs-sbd-vs-sp-powering-up-and-cashing-out
The amount that I did was just for a test...need to have WAY more SP for it to make a difference

Once you start to get some rewards paid you wont hit the limits. Also once you get to 500 SP, you get a vote slider that will really help!

Wow......it will take some time to get to 500 I reckon. I've yet to discover find out what a vote slider is. My brain hasn't worked so hard in a long time. She's had it too easy for the last 2 or 3 years. LOL

When your vote becomes worth 0.20 let's say, you may not always wish to vote that much every time. Having the slider lets you give 50% strength votes (0.10 in this case) or 25% votes (0.05 in this case) and so forth. It would be a huge advantage to have this, but we need 500 SP first

I still don't fully understand how this works Keith. Hopefully I will way before I reach 500 SP
