It's "hanami," or cherry blossom viewing, season in Japan. The white leaves on the trees are the petals of thousands upon thousands of cherry blossom blooms, which at the time of this photo, were just coming to an end for the year. The blooms' scarcity didn't prevent people from filling the park's play area with noise, laughter, and general good spirits.
