A sign of bad weather in the distance:

Olympus XZ-1, 50mm, ISO100, f8, 1/1250s

These clouds sometimes just pop up in summer on otherwise sunny days, and you can observe them expand upwards; they can grow to over 15 kilometers in height.

Very nice to look at they may be, but they are not so nice to stand under, as they often produce thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds.

There's a colour version of this photo on this Dutch Wikipedia page, but don't worry about my having stolen it; I put it there.

Thanks for watching!

Awesome shot!

Thank you.

This looks awesome and like a nuclear mushroom cloud! thanks for sharing this!

These types of clouds do look so cool from a distance but a very good point yiuvtaise not so good to be under

I like seeing storm clouds like these on hot days in the summer. It means relief is on the way.

True, but the relief can be a bit over the top, much like the event causing a gentleman on the Titanic to say: "I asked for some ice, but his is ridiculous".

outstanding moment and entry !

Wow! That's an awesome cloud shot. We used to see some great Cumulonimbus up in New South Wales but not so often here in Tasmania.

Be glad, they can produce some truly atrocious weather.

That is amazing! Such a big cloud

I discussed it with a meteorologist on the day, and he said it was about 80 kilometers (50 miles) away from me at the time I took the photo. Very big 8-).

Wow.

Congratz, you just have been resteemed by @pixresteemer!
(All right but who is pixresteemer?)

Wow! Looks like a mushroom cloud!
