Black & White Photo Contest: Water Mill Gear Box

in bwphotocontest •  8 years ago  (edited)

This is the gear box of an old Dutch water mill. Well, nearly Dutch. It is all wood, and still working fine:

It sits inside this water mill (third contest entry):

This water mill is called Haarmolen in Dutch and Haarmühle in German. It actually sits just across the border in Germany, so I suppose it isn't really Dutch, but we will fix that when we invade.

love the tones in that first photo
looks like a fun place to take some pics

It is! As long as the tourists don't get in the way.

Like seeing that b/w. First one is cool.

Thanks!

Np!

Old places scare me, horror movies remind me

No horror here, except tourists.

Upvoted 👍B & W looks to different. Would be great to see the color version as well.

Even if I wanted to, I couldn't show it in this case. The gear box was lit by a single, monochromatic sodium-vapor lamp, so there were no natural colours to be had.

nice photos...especially the mill photo... !
