In my 2nd entry for this week´s contest hosted by @daveks and sponsored by @papa-pepper I would like to present to you the Laurel forest or Laurissilva which is a type of forest that you can only find in Madeira, Azores and the Canary Islands. This Photograph was taken in the island of Madeira near São Vicente. Here you can observe the dense vegetation of indigenous forest classified as a World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO since December 1999. Madeira Natural Park conserves the largest surviving area of primary laurel forest. This forest area has great importance for biodiversity conservation being home to several plant species endemic to Madeira.

Good one. I've never been to Madeira but the reason I wanna go is precisely the Laurissilva forest.

That is definitely one of the reasons to go, but also the great walks in nature you can do there. This photo was taken at the end of a what they call "levada" which is a pedestrian path where you basically walk along a water channel normally until its fountain.
