This post is a summary of an article I will be posting tomorrow. This summary contains information on shaped particles and how they can be possible used best in terms of a business opportunity. A recommendation is also made, detailing why a certain sector may indeed be ideal for shaped particles.
Executive Summary
Shaped particles have a multitude of applications in the industry from drug delivery to agriculture. However in order for the business to succeed it must carefully select where it wants to apply its material. The needle-shaped particles are utilised in drug delivery applications and excels in this field as its needle shape allows it to be taken into the body system easier, however the production process is complicated and causes undesirable effects on the particles. Octopus-shaped particles is produced from iron and hence has magnetic properties allowing to target very specific areas and hence is able to treat cancer and genetic defects.[1] Furthermore its shape is very unique and allows it to carry the drugs easier into the area, this uniqueness also means it does not have much competition from other types of particles in the market.[2] Lastly the Bowl-shaped particle is ideal for the commercial market as it can be used in perfumes to even in agriculture due to its ability to absorb water, also the production process is easy and allows it to be mass produced. However there are a variety of other particles that can be alternatively used in the same applications and thus has substantial competition.[3] Thus I recommend the Octopus particle due to its uniqueness as it will be able to dominate the medical industry and become vital to treating cancer.
Recommendation
The best application of a material depends on the current developments in the areas and also the future developments that could occur, thus the information gathered from various patents and articles alludes to the medical field being the ideal area, with drug delivery being the main specialty area. This area is ideal due to the reliable and constant need for health care and medicine, making new materials in this area vital and required for the development of better medicine. In particular the Octopus-shaped particle would be an ideal material as it possess new age technologies which are evident in its magnetic properties, allowing for targeted treatment of cancer and correction of genetic defects. Moreover this type of particle is not a common particle and thus production of such a material would allow the business to dominate the sector and allow them to become vital in drug delivery systems with regards to cancer.
