Product update: new App features incoming!

The product team was able to close last year on a high note by testing a multi-currency crypto wallet. Instead of launching with one currency, the wallet started off with three: LTC, BTC and ETH.We started off 2018 with a strong internal roadmap, but experienced a series of bumps in the road which we will briefly touch upon. This lead to a redesign of the roadmap, which will be published in the coming weeks.

WaveCrest suspension by VISA

As explained by Kristjan in this video, we were looking to launch our Change Cards in partnership with WaveCrest. Getting 90% of the cards API integration done and then hearing the news about the card programme cancellation was a bitter pill to swallow.

Despite this setback we were able to build a stand-alone cards microservice, which we can use with any other card integrator. This architectural decision makes future integrations a lot faster to bootstrap.

The team is currently working with a new card issuer, but we are not allowed to disclose any details before the deal is finalized. This is common practice among blockchain companies and their card issuing partners.

What are we up to this week?

In addition to app maintenance, we are working on a number of other priorities as well. The most upvoted items by the community have been password reset and 2-factor authentication — we will be delivering the password reset functionality this week, as well as continue work on the 2-factor authentication. If you want to make sure your favourite feature will be worked on next, propose and upvote them on our GetChangeMakers subreddit.

We also started building the currency conversion feature, which will allow users to exchange their crypto assets in the wallet, as well as buy into crypto with fiat funds. We currently work on setting up user flows and integrating with an external API provider that allows us to do seamless crypto conversions. We’ll hopefully launch this by the end of March.
