Dessert Business

I am small business owner, I work from home what I call a "freelance baker". This phrase describes me perfectly, I make custom ordered cakes, custom decorated sugar cookies, homemade dog treats and I sell my desserts to restaurants. I do whatever I can for people to try my delicious desserts. I love food, I have tried many things when I travel, and there are always those places that I can not forget about and I want people to feel the same when they try my desserts. I work extremely hard and do the best of my abilities to provide people with a great experience.

When running a business is hard, even if its from home! It takes long unpaid hours to provide the best result for your customer/ clients. Using a lot of your own money to pay for supplies and materials. I pay the same amount for ingredients as everyone else does when going to Walmart or the Superstore. At this point in my business I do not have the space to purchase ingredients at wholesale size or prices, I am almost there its just the space that I am working on.

I know the quality of work I do for my clients and I put in 100% full attention to detail! I know what my cakes are worth and I know I provide amazing quality and the best customer service. The big issue, and I guess this comes from working from home but clients asking for a certain style cake wanting to feed 50-80 people and wanting to pay less then $250 blows my mind and in a way a slap in my face. I know what my work is worth and for someone to want to bargain way less then discounted price just blows my mind. Ingredients are expensive, for the amount I charged was not even a ridiculous amount, it was very reasonable. I just found it a slap in the face to expect a cheap priced cake when getting glamours, creative cake designs. If you want a cheap cake that looks good, good luck trying to find it, your best best is to go to big chain stores and buy a box type cake.

This is when I realize I wanted to help support small business, we are working hard to provide the best service to our clients or customers. I avoid going to chain stores or restaurants to support my fellow entrepreneurs. We should all help these small growing businesses that are just trying to make a living doing what they love to do. The one thing that schools lack is to teach good work ethics and knowing how to build a business. We need to support our local small business to help grow our economy and provide a bright future for our next local business that wants to open their doors to a better future. #supportsmallbusiness #supportlocalbusiness #dolceliciousbyerica
