What's a birthday party without a cake? Lesley's Creative Cakes in Mesa, Arizona really delivered on this cake for my niece's birthday. My niece is utterly obsessed with the latest toy fad, LOL Surprise!, which are little baby girl dolls that come in an orb with accompanying accessories (if you don't get it, I don't either). Lesley's Creative cakes ran with the idea and came up with this fabulous two tiered cake.
I don't usually like fondant on cakes, but I found this one to be delightfully delicious, albeit a little over the top sweet. Having worked at a bakery on both the front and back sides of the business, I can be a little persnickety about cake, but this one was fantastic. And the decoration was smooth, well done and stood up to prying little toddler hands.
My niece was of course very pleased. And we are of course very grateful to Lesley's Creative Cakes for their creative contribution to our celebration.
