Dr Cassidy's Canadian accent is more distinctive than I am accustomed to. Listening to him, for the first time it occurred to me that there is a strong aspect that seems Scottish or Irish. The rhotic "r" and the rising and falling tone, I guess. I don't know how much that would be coincidence vs trace to actual origin.

Also, we had an earthquake.
