In the last four years, we’ve learned that college campus survivors are apprehensive about reporting their experiences to Title IX offices. For many survivors, it is an unsupportive and hyper procedural process. Tack on theproposed changes to Title IX, which would include redefining sexual misconduct as conduct that is “severe, pervasive and objectively offensive” and it’s no wonder that students may choose to shy away from Title IX.
These insights, fueled by our commitment to the campus community, have lead us to innovate on our approach and double down on our fight against campus sexual assault in 2020.
Next year, we’re launching a new product on college campuses that will connect survivors of serial offenders to free attorneys called Legal Options Counselors* who will help them navigate the full range of their options (including but not limited to Title IX). This service is designed to ensure that survivors with a range of experiences and desired outcomes can still coordinate action to protect their community.
To ensure our work spreads far and wide, we will be launching across 25 campuses; more than doubling our campus impact from 12 to 25.

Please make a donation today to ensure that we can get survivors the support they need.DONATE NOW*If more than one survivor names the same perpetrator through our matching system, a Legal Options Counselor will reach out to the survivor. They talk to them about what happened. They discuss their fears and assess their goals. Then, they talk through each option, each risk, and each process. There is no one “right” path for any survivor to take, and our Legal Options Counselors will help each person find the best choice for themselves. Maybe that means confronting the perpetrator, getting a restraining order, or restorative justice. Maybe it means connecting safely with survivors of the same perpetrator.
The Legal Options Counselor helps the survivor choose what, if anything, is right for them. They’ll tell them what it might look like and who can help.
