In 2020, Call of Duty will return with a new episode developed by Treyarch, most likely Black Ops 5: this is unpublished news, distorting the plans that Activision has held so far.
To date, the publisher has alternated the work of three different development teams on the series, and if this year we see the return of Infinity Ward, probably with a new Modern Warfare, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software would have been taking care of Call of Duty in 2020.
Well, as mentioned, Activision suddenly decided to change its plans, remove the management of the project and assign it to Treyarch to the Sledgehammer and Raven mentioned above. Not only that: the game's single player campaign, set during the cold war period, will become precisely Black Ops 5's campaign.
The sources reporting the news added that Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 is likely to be a cross-gen title, released on both current and next-generation platforms scheduled to launch in the fall of 2020.
