Woman has very important role to play in the economy.

Well, the elites will always try to protect themselves. And I believe that we have to look after the poor’s interests.

Unlike many countries in the world which use local currency primarily, in Cambodia we use Khmer Riels and US Dollars. It is good and bad as the matter of fact for the development of Cambodia economy because we have very long favor of using US Dollars since the UNTAC came to the country. However, we cannot implement monetary policy as US Dollars is still famous for day-to-day use in our society. There are efforts to de-dollarisation and promote local currency but the estimation is between 5 to 10 years more.

H.E. Chea Serey, Director General of Central Banking from the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC). She answers about vision for the future of finance in Cambodia. She supports the idea of cashless economic and embraces the advantage of blockchain technology.

This is visionary and I truly support her vision for the people of Cambodia. I do hope she will discover the #Steem and #Steemit platform as well.
