Former Manchester City defender Maicon has signalled his desire to extend his contract at Roma.
The Brazil full-back joined Roma on a two-year deal last summer following an unsuccessful stint at the Etihad and made 28 appearances as the Italian capital club secured a top-two finish in Serie A.
He is inside the final year of his contract at the Stadio Olimpico and admits he wants to secure his long-term future at the club as soon as possible.
He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "The first thing I’ll do now is call [Roma’s sporting director Walter] Sabatini. I want to renew now, I have no intention of leaving."
The Serie A side could have a very attractive defence next season with Ashley Cole already there and Aston Villa captain and Holland star Ron Vlaar high on their agenda.
