The name is a mouthful I know. We just call it Cypress Hills for short. It is a park that is in both the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan. Growing up I only ever went on the Alberta side because I live in Alberta. But my mother and father in law booked a private group campsite on the Saskatchewan side. It was originally supposed to be a large gathering, family reunion style event.
Obviously because of Covid-19 it couldn't be a large gathering so it was just immediate family. This turned out well because we had a large campsite all to ourselves. Since I had never been here I hiked as much as I could and managed to get some nice pictures along the way.
The entrance sign. Our campsite was 10 kilometres outside of the park, it was a decent hike.
Some pictures of the hike before getting into the park itself. No one else in my family is enthusiastic about long walks..
One of my favourite things to find and photograph when I am camping is mushrooms. I got lucky. Enjoy the pics and stay safe.
