Just throwing some family memories up on the blockchain. Oddly enough, I tried uploading to DTube (while uploading to Facebook at the same time) and my computer crashed. Still haven't been able to upload to Facebook (it threw an error twice). YouTube appears to still be the video king as far as ease of use.
This is just over 11 minutes of short videos and pictures I took with my phone this weekend.
Some of the things not included in the video include us playing washers or corn hole or my buddy Nick and I drinking whiskey and smoking cigars while talking philosophy around the campfire till 2:30am. It also didn't show the snake I saw swim across the creek about 40 yards from where my kids were playing down stream. Or how three people (my daughter and wife included) got stung by hornets. Or how many bug bites we all got. It does show how beautiful the place is and some fun we had.
Also, I'm beginning to think humans may just be food sources for mosquitos. Heheh.
I don't expect others to appreciate this video as much as my family, but I enjoy putting fun times up on my Steemit blog because it makes this place more of "my home on the Internet" where I can put whatever I'm feeling at the time.

hey man! that looks like I great time :) I enjoyed it quite a bit.. true probably not AS MUCH as you and your family lol but its great to see you spending such valuable time in the woods making memories with the fam ! the caterpillar was a fun little touch lol .. I can relate to this post because me and my dad are taking off tomorrow at 4:30 am to head into the Adirondack mountains for a 4 day trek !!!! WOO HOO I'm stoked lol.. nothing better then bonding with family in the woods ! so I totally get it brotha.. anyway keep on rocking and rollin ! il be sure to have some vlogs and pictures of our trip when I come back:)

Right when we got there, the host who led us to our spot showed the kids how to find certain rocks which you could rub together to make "paints." They had yellow, orange, grey, and blue, I think. I just watched this again with the kids before bed and they loved it.

Yeah, that whiskey is the best for camping. Aged with cheery wood, beach wood, and peat, it's the perfect smokey flavor for a campfire.

@lukestokes - Man - seems to have been a 'wild' weekend - literally! What with snakes swimming across, hornets stinging and mosquitoes sucking more blood than IRS!!
I am bummed to hear that Youtube is still video king. I don't care much about Facebook video but Dtube should have been a reliable one.
Anyway - I am glad that you got these happy memories saved. These days one can spend with kids can never return. Not too far away in future, the young ones fly away and the nest is empty.
