My maternal ancestors have been in Canada for thousands of years. Some Research says 25,000 years. I am a mix of many ethnicities and am called "Metis" French Canadian, Ojibwe, Odawa, Cree and even some Shawnee. I do not believe the Mormon stories since I know that Ojibwe lived in Canada 15,000 years before Adam was formed (5778 years ago)
In the USA the Ojibwa are called "Chippewa" It's like "O-Jibwe" without the "O" .... Ji-bwa"
We also call ourselves "Anishinabe" : Ani-Shin-Abe
When I was doing some research on various spellings of this Word I realized that they are similar to the Hebrew Words Ani-Shin-Aba
אני אש אבא
Ani= I am אני
Shin=Fire ש
Aba= Father אבא
I am the Fire, Spirit, Spark, Breath of the Father ....
Anishinabe is a word for people or mankind .... Man is made from the Fire (spark) of the Father.
Anishinaabe (or Anishinabe, plural: Anishinaabeg) is the autonym for a group of culturally related Indigenous Peoples in Canada and the United States that include the Odawa, Ojibwe, Potawatomi, Oji-Cree, Mississaugas, Chippewa, and Algonquin peoples. The Anishinaabeg speak Anishinaabemowin, or Anishinaabe languages that belong to the Algonquian language family. They traditionally have lived in the Northeast Woodlands and Subarctic.
The word Anishinaabeg translates to "people from whence lowered." Another definition refers to "the good humans," meaning those who are on the right road or path given to them by the Creator Gitche Manitou, or Great Spirit. The Ojibwe historian, linguist, and author Basil Johnston wrote that its literal translation is "Beings Made Out of Nothing" or "Spontaneous Beings," since Anishinaabeg myths claim they were created by divine breath.

Contrary to the stories of the Mormons if there is a relationship between the indigenous People of Israel and the Indigenous People of Canada it goes in the opposite direction ... the Algonquin (Anishinabe) traveled by boat to Israel 20,000 years ago and settled at the Sea of Galilee. This is where you will also find people with Ojibwa "X2" maternal DNA ... among the Galilean Druze.
Good old Gitchi, I have read many stories about him. Here is one... An old ancient Algonquin fenced off a bare piece of land with no seeds & used his faith in Gitchi to try & grow some crops. The others thought he was mad because they said nothing grows without seed but his faith was repaid & the crop grew it was hemp.
Another one is he created the animals first & the animals got bored so he made humans to give the animals something to do the animals taught humans everything they know but one human got greedy & killed one of the animals so he changed our relationship with the animals to what it is now.
Another is that Gitchi gave up smoking & blessed us with his stash & whenever we smoke our wishes are carried up in the smoke.
We have mormons in England too I have spoken with them but they don't listen they are like programmed to switch off when somebody else talks, they believe in magic underwear. I would have to choose Gitchi over that any day of the week.
